Arts & Letters Daily is reborn

Arts & Letters Daily, a Web site(https://aldaily.com) devoted to the world of ideas and popular with academics, was back online Friday after an 18-day hiatus caused by the bankruptcy of its parent company.
That problem was overcome when University Partners agreed to sell its assets, including the magazine Lingua Franca, to the Washington-based Chronicle of Higher Education.
Denis Dutton, a philosophy professor in New Zealand who created the site in 1998 and will continue to run it, said he was thrilled by the development.
The new owners, he said, “are themselves long-standing readers of Arts & Letters Daily.
They understand its appeal and they are keen to see its core values maintained.”
