A man is being held on suspicion of murder after he walked into the Burbank Police Station with his attorney and reported that a homicide may have occurred at his girlfriend’s apartment, police said Saturday.
Steve Edward Stevenson, 48, was being held in lieu of $1-million bail, Sgt. Jose Duran said.
Stevenson asked police on Friday evening to check on his girlfriend in an apartment in the 2100 block of North Lincoln Street, Lt. Tim Stehr said.
Officers found the body of a 47-year-old woman inside.
The woman’s name was not released.
“There were signs of a struggle. It appeared to be some kind of domestic dispute,” Stehr said.
The cause of death was not clear, the officer added.
