Re “Maritime School Anchors Its Teaching in Practicality,” Sept. 18: The photograph of two students unloading supplies features an item that I didn’t expect--a case of beer. I suppose one of the practical lessons taught by the California Maritime Academy is drinking responsibly while captaining a ship.
