Aztecs Remain Winless, 48-38

MOSCOW, Idaho — Brian Lindgren threw for 382 yards and six touchdowns Saturday as Idaho defeated San Diego State, 48-38.
San Diego State’s Adam Hall completed 29 of 49 passes for 506 yards and five touchdowns, but the Aztecs (0-4) were unable to score in the final 12:48 after rallying to tie the score, 38-38.
After the Vandals (1-3) surged ahead, 48-38, the Aztecs had first and goal at Idaho’s nine-yard line. After Hall threw three incompletions, first-year San Diego State Coach Tom Craft went for it on fourth down instead of trying a field goal.
Hall threw incomplete, and the Vandals took over.
San Diego State’s J.R. Tolver, the nation’s leading receiver, had 14 catches for 184 yards and three touchdowns. Teammate Kassim Osgood caught six passes for 178 yards.
Josh Jelmberg had five receptions for 97 yards and Orlando Winston caught five passes for 78 yards to lead Idaho. Malfred Shaw and Blair Lewis combined for 149 yards in 34 carries.
The Vandals held San Diego State to 79 yards rushing.
