The State Department has strengthened its “worldwide caution” and extended it to Oct. 31. It says that “terrorist actions against U.S. interests ... may be imminent” and urges Americans to avoid or to be especially cautious at restaurants, churches and other places frequented by their compatriots. Hilton Hawaiian Village in Honolulu, which closed all 453 guest rooms at its year-old Kalia Tower this summer after discovering mold, will replace all furniture, linens and carpeting, Associated Press reported. The tower is expected to be closed several more weeks. The rest of the 3,000-room resort remains open.
