About 70 travel agents sued the major air carriers, accusing them of violating antitrust laws by colluding to eliminate commissions on ticket sales.
The suit, filed in U.S. District Court in San Francisco, seeks millions in damages. It names 21 airlines, including American and United.
Similar cases are pending in federal courts in Los Angeles and Wilmington, N.C.
The Air Transport Assn., an industry trade group, said it had not seen the suit and declined to comment.
