Re “Stadium Stirred by ‘Passion’ Preview,” Aug. 9: With Iraq, Liberia and a gubernatorial recall apparently not enough to fill the paper, The Times elects to devote a front-page article to another of the world’s most important issues -- Mel Gibson’s latest movie. Has the Hollywood publicity machine finally overtaken the news department at The Times? Since when does a movie star/director’s view of religion and a film preview at a tent revival rate front-page news?
