Former FBI Agent Loses Appeal of His Conviction

John J. Connolly Jr., the former Boston FBI agent convicted of getting too cozy with his mob informants, lost an appeal in federal court.
The U.S. 1st Circuit Court of Appeals rejected Connolly’s claims that he shouldn’t have been convicted on a racketeering charge and that the judge made a mistake when he sentenced him to just over 10 years.
Connolly was convicted in May 2002 of racketeering, obstruction of justice and making false statements.
