Ventura City Councilman Carl Morehouse announced Wednesday that he will seek a second term in November.
The 51-year-old local planner said he would like to continue the work he and his fellow council members have begun.
“I feel like we’ve come a really long way in the four years I’ve been here,” Morehouse said. But “I really truly believe that there are still things to be accomplished.”
The announcement comes one day after urban planning expert Bill Fulton announced his candidacy. Voters will be asked to fill three open seats on the seven-member council.
Morehouse said he should be elected because he already knows his way around City Hall. “I’ve been here for four years doing the job,” he said. “I have the experience and I’ve been a practicing planner for 25 years.”
