New ending due for Luster TV movie

The capture of convicted rapist Andrew Luster in Mexico this week had reverberations in Canada, where a TV movie about him is in production for airing on the Lifetime channel Aug. 11.
Producer Larry Thompson told Daily Variety that the production team is quickly writing a new ending to shoot before filming on “A Date With Darkness” wraps next week.
Luster, 39, was flown from Puerto Vallarta to Los Angeles Thursday and immediately began serving a 124-year prison sentence. He was convicted earlier this year on 86 counts of drugging and raping three women but fled before the verdict was delivered.
Jason Gedrick is starring in the movie. Until Luster was captured, the film was going to end with him still on the lam and a plea to viewers to alert authorities if they saw him.
