Woman Killed, Son Wounded in Shooting

A mother was killed and her 12-year-old son wounded in a shooting as they drove through Long Beach, police said.
The shooting happened near the intersection of 15th Street and Alamitos Avenue about 9 p.m. Sunday, said Long Beach Police Officer Jana Blair.
They were taken to separate hospitals, where the mother died from her wounds. Her son was listed in stable condition, Blair said. Police had no motive for the attack.
