A Porterville family will receive a nearly $1-million settlement from San Joaquin Growers.
Irene Salinas and her three children will receive $945,000 for injuries they suffered in a wreck involving a company truck May 30, according to the agreement.
Salinas was driving on California 65 in Porterville when a San Joaquin Grower truck driven by employee Ross Trimmer pulled out in front of her, causing her to crash into it, the lawsuit alleged.
Salinas’ 17-year-old daughter’s thigh bone was shattered and sheared off at the hip.
The girl’s 12-year-old sister received $300,000 to cover medical bills for a shattered leg, broken arm and elbow, and fractured skull.
