Hewlett-Packard to Buy Persist Technologies

Hewlett-Packard Co. agreed to buy closely held Persist Technologies Inc., a Pleasanton, Calif., maker of software that stores old e-mail and documents in archives. Terms of the purchase weren’t disclosed.

Shares of Palo Alto, Calif.-based Hewlett-Packard rose 14 cents to $22.15 on the New York Stock Exchange.
