The American Cinematheque’s John Huston retrospective continues with his excellent 1950 heist film, “The Asphalt Jungle,” based on W.R. Burnett’s novel. The fine cast of assorted cons and hangers-on includes Sterling Hayden, Louis Calhern, Jean Hagen, James Whitmore, Sam Jaffe and, of all people, Marilyn Monroe.
