A series of separatist attacks in the Indian-controlled portion of Kashmir killed at least nine people, police said.
In the deadliest attack, a bomb exploded in a wholesale market on the outskirts of Srinagar, killing six people and wounding 34, said a spokesman for the Border Security Force.
A Pakistan-based militant group, Hezb-ul-Moujahedeen, claimed responsibility. The group is fighting for the divided Himalayan region’s independence or its merger with Pakistan.
