* Walt Disney Co. has named Mark Silverman senior vice president and general manager of ABC Family Channel. Silverman, a former vice president of planning and development for ABC Inc., will assume day-to-day operations of the cable channel.
* Unilever said it agreed to sell its U.S. and Canadian oral care brands to Church & Dwight Co. in a deal initially worth $104 million that would combine toothpaste brands Mentadent, Pepsodent and Arm & Hammer.
* Ford Motor Co., which had the biggest U.S. sales drop last month among major automakers, has lengthened the maximum term for no-interest loans to six years on 2003 Taurus sedans, Explorer sport utility vehicles and Ranger pickups.
* H&R; Block Inc., the largest preparer of U.S. tax returns, plans to sell its services in as many as 850 Wal-Mart stores during next year’s tax season, the companies said.
* Topps Co., maker of trading cards and Bazooka chewing gum, plans to buy the Warheads sour-candy brand and other non-chocolate treats from Foreign Candy Co., expanding a business that accounts for half of its revenue. The price wasn’t disclosed.
