Inflation Statistics Come Up Short

The cost of the two items that make up at least half of all household expenses, gasoline and housing, has risen more than 25% in the last year.
Yet the media experts and government-produced statistics keep telling us that inflation is less than 3%. I guess that it may be true that “statistics don’t lie,” but it sure looks like statisticians do.
