Methamphetamine use in Mendocino County seems to be growing, according to a report by the Mendocino County Public Health Department.
The number of people admitted to the county’s Alcohol and Other Drugs Programs who list amphetamine use as the reason for treatment climbed from 17% of 1,475 clients in the 1999-2000 fiscal year to 30% of 1,674 clients in 2002-03, the report states. “We’ve seen that steady march that started five years ago,” said Phyllis Webb, a public health analyst who wrote the report.
