Under the influence?

Eminem more influential than Buddy Holly (“They Just Like That Old Time Rock ‘N’ Roll,” by Robert Hilburn, April 11)?
Somehow I can’t picture any future Weezer writing songs about looking like Eminem, or some singer-songwriter proclaiming that “the music died” when Eminem goes face down in a field of corn.
Holly showed versatility, talent and originality. I have yet to see this from Mathers. For my money, Jerry Mathers had more talent than Marshall.
Sure it’s all speculation and opinion, but to come out in print and declare this is absurd to me.
