GARDEN GROVE
An apartment fire forced a couple to leap to safety from a second-floor window, left about 30 people looking for temporary shelter and caused as much as $1 million in damage, officials said.
Three units at the El Dorado apartments on Dale Street in Garden Grove, all on the top floor, were gutted, fire Capt. Jeff Spargur said. Five units sustained smoke and water damage and four had minor water damage, he said.
The blaze started in the living room of an upstairs apartment and has been called accidental.
