New City Manager Fires 5 Department Heads

SAN DIEGO
Newly appointed City Manager Lamont Ewell has fired at least five department heads in an effort to eliminate redundancies and cut costs in the face of a looming deficit.
Ewell would not confirm the number of people fired or their names Wednesday, citing employee confidentiality.
