A man was killed Monday when his car struck a light pole in Santa Ana, police said.
The accident occurred at West Edinger Avenue and Baker Street shortly after 5 p.m., officials said. The man’s name was withheld pending notification of relatives.
The impact caused the light pole to fall on the 1993 Hyundai, smashing through the roof and pinning the driver. He was freed and airlifted to a hospital, police said.
Alcohol may have been a factor, police said, but the accident remains under investigation.
