Times Executive to Join Tribune MediaNet

Ray McCutcheon, senior vice president for advertising at the Los Angeles Times, is joining Tribune Media Net, the national ad sales group for Tribune Co., parent of The Times.
McCutcheon, who came to The Times five years ago from Newsday, will serve as vice president of sales development when he begins the new assignment Sept. 7.
“We’re delighted to have an executive of Ray’s caliber and experience joining Tribune Media Net,” said Dave Murphy, president of Tribune Media Net. “The depth and strength of his relationships with major advertisers and his knowledge of both the Los Angeles and New York markets will help Tribune grow its national and retail business.”
Times General Manager Jeff Johnson said the paper had begun a search for a replacement.
