Surviving: CBS has ordered two more editions of its unscripted series “Survivor” for the 2005-06 season.

Recovering: Soul singer James Brown underwent surgery at a hospital in Atlanta on Wednesday to treat his recently diagnosed prostate cancer. A doctor there described the procedure as successful and said a full recovery was expected.

Ruling: Rapper Ol’ Dirty Bastard, who died in a recording studio last month at age 35, had taken cocaine and a prescription pain relief drug before his collapse, the New York City medical examiner’s office said Wednesday. A spokeswoman said his death was ruled an accident.
