Actors and Hollywood studios recessed talks on a new contract until Jan. 5.
The two sides have been meeting for more than a week, discussing such issues as healthcare benefits and whether studios should share a bigger piece of their DVD profits.
Both sides pledged to work toward a deal when they reconvene. Actors are represented by the Screen Actors Guild and the American Federation of Television and Radio Artists. The major entertainment companies are represented by the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers.
