Friday is New Year’s Eve and Saturday is New Year’s Day. The following schedule will be in effect for the holidays:
Mail: Operations on Friday will not be affected. On Saturday, there will be no mail delivery and post offices will be closed.
Schools: Public schools will be closed both days.
Public transportation: Metrolink trains will run on a special schedule Saturday; information: (800) 371-5465.
Libraries: Check with your local branch for hours on Friday. Most libraries will be closed Saturday.
Banks: Check with your local branch for Friday hours. Most banks will be closed Saturday.
Trash collection: Service will not be affected.
Government: Many city offices will be closed Friday; check with your city hall. City, county and federal offices and courts will be closed Saturday.
