Baby Dies After Removal of Partly Formed Twin

An 8-week-old girl died seven hours after surgery to remove her partially formed twin, her parents and doctors said.
Doctors who removed the undeveloped second head from Rebeca Martinez had warned that she would be at great risk of infection or hemorrhaging. UCLA’s Dr. Jorge Lazareff said the Dominican infant lost a lot of blood and had a heart attack.
