From Times Wire Reports
An avalanche blocked westbound Interstate 70 through Vail Pass, burying the highway under about six feet of snow.
No one was believed to have been caught in the slide, which occurred about four miles from the top of the 10,600-foot pass on the state’s major east-west highway, the state Transportation Department said.
The west side of U.S. 160 in Wolf Creek Pass in southwestern Colorado also was blocked by avalanches.
