Justin Paulsen of Santa Ana Calvary Chapel pinned Phil Bascos of San Luis Obispo in 28 seconds to win the championship of the 103-pound weight class in the Chino Hills Ayala wrestling tournament Saturday at Ayala High.
Like Paulsen, who earned lower-weight MVP honors, Calvary Chapel teammates Bryan Osuna (119 pounds), Patrick Aleksanyn (135) and David Jauregui (140) swept their divisions as the Eagles won the team competition with 244 1/2 points.
Armand Kuclukkoseoglu and Nick Ketelsleger of Ayala each finished with one-point victories in the 189-pound and heavyweight finals, respectively, to help their team to second place with 200 points. Ketelsleger and Redlands East Valley’s Mike O’Hara earned co-MVP honors among upper weights.

Harbor City Narbonne point guard Camille LeNoir will be sidelined at least the next two weeks of the season after breaking her left ankle during the December tournament season.
The senior, the City Section player of the year last season, went down in the first minute of a loss to Shelbyville (Tenn.) Central at the Nike Tournament of Champions in Arizona.
Narbonne Coach James Anderson said he believes LeNoir will return for a nonleague game Jan. 17 against Oceanside El Camino.

Brian Toal of Ramsey (N.J.) Don Bosco Prep rushed for three touchdowns and Rhett Bomar of Grand Prairie (Texas) and Brian Brohm of Louisville (Ky.) Trinity High each threw a touchdown pass as the East beat the West, 45-28, in the U.S. Army All-American Bowl in San Antonio.
Featuring 78 of the top high school seniors in the country, the game included Notre Dame-bound linebacker Anthony Vernaglia of Orange Lutheran and Ventura St. Bonaventure cornerback Terrail Lambert.
Jeff Schweiger Jr. of San Jose Valley Christian, a 6-5, 245-pound defensive end considered the best pass rusher in the nation, committed to USC during the game. USC also received a commitment from center Jeff Byers of Loveland (Colo.), named the High School Ironman of the Year by the Arena Football League.
