Producers Guild posts 6 nominees

The Producers Guild of America on Monday nominated six films for its producer of the year award, often a predictor of the best picture Oscar.
Finalists included “Cold Mountain,” “The Last Samurai,” “The Lord of the Rings: Return of the King,” “Master and Commander: The Far Side of the World,” “Mystic River” and “Seabiscuit.” Ten of the last 14 PGA winners have also won the Academy Award.
Winners will be announced Jan. 17 at the Century Plaza Hotel.
