Police and district attorney’s investigators have failed to find enough evidence to file criminal charges in the April 2002 disappearance of 2-year-old Jahi Turner, Dist. Atty. Bonnie Dumanis announced. No body has been found.
The child’s stepfather, Tieray Jones, remains a suspect, officials said. Jones and the boy’s mother, Tameka Jones, have left San Diego. The stepfather said the boy disappeared during an outing at Balboa Park.
“We have not forgotten this little boy,” Dumanis said. “His disappearance still weighs heavy on our hearts.”
