A former Thousand Oaks gang member has been arrested in San Francisco in connection with a 1998 slaying in Las Vegas.
Jose Francisco Martin, 30, was arrested last week in San Francisco, where he was living, authorities said.
Martin, a native of Mexico, had spent about 10 years in Thousand Oaks and had numerous run-ins with local police, Ventura County Sheriff’s Sgt. Mike De Los Santos said.
The slaying occurred in February 1998 at the Tropicana Hotel, De Los Santos said. After being ejected by a security guard, he said, Martin allegedly got a gun, returned to the hotel and shot the guard.
