School Trustee Sues Over His Ouster From Board
- Share via
Centinela Valley Union High School trustee Jorge Arroyo has sued the district and its board, claiming he was illegally ousted as board president last month.
Arroyo was removed in response to allegations that he made racist and sexist remarks against district officials at a convention. He denies those accusations, contends officials convened an illegitimate meeting to demote him and did not conduct a proper investigation.
Board member Rafael Ramirez, also suing the district, said he was not notified of the meeting and was out of the country. Ramirez says he sat next to Arroyo during the dinner at which district employees said they overheard allegedly derogatory remarks. Ramirez said he did not hear such comments.
