From Times Staff and Wire Reports
A gunman in a black mask held up a bank Friday after cutting a hole in the ceiling and waiting for employees, authorities said.
The man used a hacksaw to cut through the ceiling of Downey Savings & Loan late Thursday or early Friday, climbed down and then replaced a ceiling tile, Orange County Sheriff’s spokesman Jim Amormino said.
He confronted four employees, then looted teller drawers of an undisclosed amount of money, Amormino said.
He escaped back through the same hole.
