Mortgage rates fall to six-month low

Mortgage rates fell last week to a six-month low. Rates on 30-year mortgages averaged 5.66%, down from 5.87% the week before and the lowest since 5.52% on July 11, Freddie Mac said.
Rates averaged 4.97% for 15-year mortgages, down from 5.17% the previous week and the lowest since July 11. One-year adjustable rates averaged 3.62%, down from 3.76% the week before and the lowest since July 18.
A year ago, 30-year rates averaged 5.97%, 15-year 5.36% and one-year adjustables 4.03%.
