Rancho Cucamonga Man to Be Charged in Machine-Gun Deaths

Police said they believe a Rancho Cucamonga man was the triggerman in the Jan. 18 machine-gun slayings of two teenagers.
Lanny Woosley will face two murder and one attempted murder counts when he is arraigned today in San Bernardino County Superior Court.
Woosley, 21, claimed ownership of the machine gun, according to the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department. Detectives said Thursday they have concluded after interviews with associates of Woosley that he fired the gun on the Haven Avenue overpass of the 210 Freeway, killing Rancho Cucamonga High School seniors Blake Harris, 18, and Christopher Heyman, 17.
Sheriff’s spokesman Chip Patterson said that Woosley and Alexis Jimenez, 20, of Fontana were driving together when they thought a man driving a Ford Mustang cut them off. Woosley and Jimenez followed the car, with Woosley opening fire, Patterson said. Jimenez was shot to death by Colton police Jan. 20 after allegedly committing two carjackings. He was allegedly carrying the same machine gun during those carjackings.
