Woman Is Killed When Tourist Train Hits Car

A train carrying tourists on a scenic Cape Cod railway collided with a car at a railroad crossing, killing an elderly woman.
A witness said the warning lights and bell at the crossing were working when the car drove onto the tracks as the train approached.
Passenger Marie Kennedy, 81, was pronounced dead at the scene, and driver Claire Kennedy, 54, was taken to a hospital for injuries that were not life-threatening, police said. None of the 29 train passengers was hurt.
