Bike-Riding Assailant Sentenced to 14 Years

A 43-year-old man who admitted to hitting nearly two dozen women and girls as he rode past them on a bicycle has been sentenced to 14 years and eight months in state prison.
Sacramento Superior Court Judge Pamela Smith-Steward also ordered Richard Jiron to pay $5,043 in restitution to six of the victims at the sentencing Friday.
Jiron admitted in a plea agreement to 23 felony and misdemeanor attacks on Sacramento women and girls, ages 13 to 58, between November 2002 and February 2003.
