The Pasadena City Council unanimously passed an ordinance Monday night restricting residential development on the city’s hillsides.
The new regulations limit the size of houses based on the hillside site and slope, among other factors, said Richard Bruckner, city director of planning and development.
“The idea is to control development,” Bruckner said. “Not to stop it.”
The ordinance affects hillside areas in the Linda Vista, San Rafael and Hastings Ranch neighborhoods.
