Re “Ex-Sheriff Admits Guilt on Stolen Property Charges,” May 11: An ex-sheriff of San Bernardino County “steals” (sorry, somehow fails to return) more than 500 confiscated guns over an eight-year period and, according to an assistant district attorney, “Incarceration was never an option.” Now I’m really worried, because I’m sure that, in order to serve equal justice under the law, any street thug or gang member who perpetrates the same crime will be accorded the same courtesy.
