Microsoft, Time Warner May Get OK to Buy Firm

Microsoft Corp., the world’s largest software maker, and Time Warner Inc., the biggest media company, may win EU approval to gain joint control of a maker of anti-piracy software, people familiar with the situation said.
European Commission regulators, who opened a four-month probe in August into plans by the companies to buy control of closely held ContentGuard Inc. of Bethesda, Md., sent a statement of objections to the companies Nov. 5, the people said.
