Motorist, 87, Dies of Injuries From Accident

An elderly motorist who was critically injured in a car accident near Brookhurst Street and Atlanta Avenue in Huntington Beach died Sunday, authorities said.
Thomas Benvenuti, 87, of Huntington Beach hit two cars and a pole while driving south on Brookhurst on Saturday about 5:30 p.m., said Sgt. Mike A. Metoyer. Benvenuti was taken to Western Medical Center-Santa Ana, police said.
