Time to put Leno on notice

So Jay Leno is going to retire in five years [“Jay Leno Gives His 5-Year Notice,” by Maria Elena Fernandez and Lynn Smith, Sept. 28]. Big deal. Is the public now going to have to go through five years of hype regarding this supposedly momentous decision? One year I can understand, but five?
