Global Crossing to Eliminate 600 Jobs

Global Crossing Ltd. said it planned to eliminate about 600 jobs, or 15% of its workforce, as falling long-distance telephone prices drive down sales.
Some businesses will be shrunk or closed, including consumer local and long-distance services, the fiber optic network operator said.
