Guard Shoots Man Who Allegedly Attacked Him

A security guard at a condo complex shot and injured a man who allegedly lunged at him with an object early Wednesday, officials said.
Stanley Thomas, 40, a guard for Secure Tech, told police he was locking a door at the Villages complex about 2 a.m. when the man flung open the door and attacked him.
Thomas Pham, 22, of Yorba Linda was shot in the stomach and taken to Western Medical Center-Santa Ana in critical condition.
Police said Pham did not live in the complex.
Thomas was not arrested, pending an investigation.
