Ex-Mayor to Fill Temporary Council Seat

Former Mayor Grace Winchell has been appointed to fill a short-term vacancy on the Huntington Beach City Council.
The council voted 4 to 2 Monday night to approve her appointment. She replaces Pam Julien Houchen, who resigned abruptly Sept. 1.
The council was required to appoint a replacement. Winchell, however, will serve for only two meetings.
