Man Runs Across Street, Is Hit and Killed by SUV

OXNARD
An Oxnard man died Monday night after he ran across Channel Islands Boulevard and was hit by a sport utility vehicle, police said.
Manuel Garcia Cruz, 43, was seen running on the boulevard east of El Dorado Avenue about 7:30 p.m. when he was hit by an SUV driven by a 41-year-old Port Hueneme woman, police said.
Garcia died at St. John’s Regional Medical Center in Oxnard. The driver, whose name has not been released, was not injured or cited, police said.
