Nakatani Ban Starts Dec. 26

The Santa Anita stewards have issued a ruling that suspends jockey Corey Nakatani from Dec. 26 through Feb. 3 of next year.
The suspension stems from an incident at Santa Anita in March. Nakatani’s mount bumped another horse, unseating jockey Javier Santiago. The stewards said his actions represented “an unwarranted riding infraction.” He had appealed a 30-day ban, and may also appeal the new penalty.
