GIRLS’ VOLLEYBALL
* Mallorie Croal, Mater Dei: Had seven of her 24 kills in the decisive fifth game as Mater Dei, ranked No. 1 in Southern Section Division II-AA, defeated Santa Margarita, the top-ranked team in Division III-AA, 25-14, 25-22, 23-25, 18-25, 15-11.
* Jasmen Ward, Pomona: Had 22 kills and 17 digs for the Red Devils, who clinched their first-ever Valle Vista League title with a 23-25, 25-17, 25-18, 25-9 victory over two-time defending champion San Dimas.
* Morgan Beck, San Clemente: Broke the school single-season record for kills after tallying 13 in a 25-23, 25-14, 25-20 victory over Mission Viejo Capistrano Valley. Beck now has 427 this season, two more than Kimberly Noble had in 1999.
BOYS’ WATER POLO
* Steven Donohoe, La Verne Damien: Had seven goals, five steals and two assists for the Spartans, ranked No. 3 in Division V, in a 15-9 victory over No. 5 Chino Hills Ayala.
* Brett Garrett, San Clemente: Scored the game-winner as time expired and the Tritons, ranked No. 7 in Division I, defeated No. 8 Mission Viejo, 8-7, in a South Coast League game. It was the only time San Clemente led in the game.
CROSS-COUNTRY
* Gabriel Guzman, North Hills Monroe: Ran the three-mile Pierce College course in 15:45, the fastest time in the City Section this year, during a 15-45 win over Van Nuys.
GIRLS’ GOLF
* Kalyn Dodge, Santa Ana Mater Dei: Led the Monarchs to their first-ever Serra League title with a six-over 38 in a 208-217 victory over Santa Margarita at Anaheim Dad Miller Golf Course. The match was a nine-hole playoff to break a tie for the league title.
