Jailed Horse Rancher Evicted From Property

Embattled rancher Slick Gardner has been evicted from his Santa Ynez Valley horse ranch.
Several residents at the 1,300-acre ranch, including Gardner’s girlfriend and child, moved out Tuesday, said Christel Iwohn of property owner Jelmax.
Gardner was jailed last week for possibly violating the terms of his probation in an animal cruelty case.
Though a sign near California 246 had continued to welcome visitors to “Gardner Ranch,” Jelmax has owned the $6-million property for several years, Iwohn said.
Gardner had been leasing the property, but he failed to make payments and was kicked out.
